Most people see math as a series of boring tasks, and so did I up until a few years ago when I started competition math. When I started doing competition math, I realized that math, at any level, is more of an art than an academic subject. It is the ability to piece together different thought processes to form a unique and beautiful solution. I chose to volunteer at Math Matters because I want to spread my new understanding and love for math with younger kids so they can both learn and have fun at the same time, and Math Matters is the perfect organization to do this at.
